Here are the two engine configurations I ran in the mini over the past four years. 

I built the 850 originally myself, but with in three weeks it was rebuilt by Northern Mini Parts with gearbox failure & over the following two years we modified the engine up to the build sheet attached. At the same time as modifying the suspension & competing.

The build sheet for the 1330cc engine was provided by the engine builder (Simon Gardiner), my mechanic (Russell Turnner) built the gearbox, & I prepared the car for the upgrade.

          850 Engine:

Thin flange Mk1 850 crank(New)
Hepolite Pistons +30 (New)
Spring flywheel (Very original)
Wade 140 cam (completely wrong cam for an 850)
Twin timing chain
Twin 1 1/4 SU's
HP air filters
Sonic extractors
1100 head (seriously modified, 160 thou machined off through water jackets)
Cooper S twin valve springs, Mk 2 Cooper S gearbox (Standard) 
All other running rear was standard.  Estimated 45-60bhp at fly wheel.

Block +60
Head (Ported, polished & bench flowed)
Lightened & Balanced (Crank, Pistons, Rods, Flywheel)
Scatter cam
Belt drive timing
Twin 1 1/2 SU's
HP air filters
RC40 Head to tip exhaust system
Bosh distributor
Oil cooler
Morris 1100s Radiator
Oil breather's
Catch tank
Mk 2 Gearbox
4 pin diff assembly
Hardie Spicers
3:4:1 Diff
All other running rear was standard.  Engine was dyno tuned, 50kw at 5600rpm (at driving wheels).
